About Us
Mission
The purpose of the Friends of the Morse Institute Library is to bring together interested persons to promote the recognition and use of the Institute, to support the Institute both financially and intellectually as a center of cultural, educational, and recreational activity, and to encourage involvement in community affairs and activities.
What We Do
- Sponsor passes to area museums
- Sponsor the Speed Reads
- Sponsor a range of library programs for all ages
- Sponsor National Library Week programs
- Sponsor the Natick Days mini-golf event
- Provide an annual gesture of appreciation to Library staff
- Support the bookmobile and the purchase of large-print books
- Provide Welcome Packets for new library patrons
- Fund the self-checkout system
- Purchase curbside materials return boxes
- Help fund improvements to the Children’s and Teen Rooms
- Work with Library staff and trustees on the Strategic Plan
How We Do It
- Manage three two-day book, music, and bake sales a year, plus a holiday children’s book sale
- Manage the Book Nook and online sales
- Sort and organize donated books and music year round
- Organize fundraising events in the community
- Promote membership in the Friends
